You’ve survived 100% of your hardest days. I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote on the horizon of another big life transition and I’m taking stock of what has transpired in the past 20 months. So much trauma. So much sadness. So many tears. So much death. So much darkness. And yet, I am still here to speak about it. I am here to tell the world what I went through and how I survived—even thrived after everything. In the last 20 months I have lost so much—even lost myself, but I also found myself again. I have built my life again from the ground up after so much trauma, grief, and darkness. I am here to show others that they can also survive their darkest days even if they experience compounded grief and trauma. Grief and trauma absolutely changes your brain chemistry. It changes the fundamental way you react and interact with yourself and the world, how you respond, and how you live every aspect of your day to day life. But so does healing. So does the work of rebuilding yourself and your life after loss. I’m a testament that although bad things happen to us in life that we don’t have to let it dictate the rest of our story.
